Don't get Trapped in PC, Laptop, TV, Mobile & Tablets SCREEN.
Tablets and smartphones are indispensable in our society.
People use the smartdevice (phone, laptop or tv) to access the whole world, and the usage rate of mobile phones is quite high, but many people do not know that long-term use of these smart devices are very harmful to people's eyes.
Studies have revealed how cellphones and other gadgets wear down your retina over time.
Their much excessive use may cause dry eyes or sore eyes, and may even lead to conjunctival tissue.
Researchers say that the blue light that comes from these devices is absorbed by vital molecules in our retina that triggers the production of a toxic chemical that kill cells. This damage can lead to large blind spots in our vision.
Also, it has been noticed that when people look at the screen of any of their devices, they usually don't blink enough, and then taking the screen closer to the eyes only make their eyes tired.
Let alone the bad effects that adults get into, they also have the tendency to give their smart phones to their new ones, mostly in order to keep them calm & entertained or if they are crying. However, what they don't understand is a child spends a lot of time on his/her smartphone or tablet, there is a risk of developing myopia (myopia) and as a result the child will start seeing poorly from afar.
The eyes of children who spend a lot of time on their smartphone or tablet receive little outside light. And that is worrying, because in outdoor light, the dopamine dust is released, which inhibits the growth of the eyeball and thus protects against myopia.
Incidentally, not only smartphones or tablets are the culprits. Everything that causes your child to look much closer and to the outside less, increases the risk of myopia. This also includes reading a book on the couch.
Every activity, even our sleep, is constantly interrupted by our need to stay connected with social networking sites.
Now I do not say that to leave all your gadgets, technology or internet once and for all, however there should be a limitation on their usages and you should be determined to apply the same in your lifestyle.
The constant need for the smartphone evolves into something almost pathological - like that of smokers when they can not smoke.
End of Sociability
We've all have gone through with this: we're entering the elevator with a dozen people and we're all pulling out our mobiles. The same happens in the subway, at the queue of the supermarket, in the waiting room of the doctor. Even worse, it happens even to couples or companions who eat or drink outside. All together around a table, but everyone absorbed in their smartphones.
Goodbye to Memory
The increased use of smartphones seems to lead to a weak memory. Our mind is overloaded with information and can not distinguish the useful information from the useless, so often forgetting the important details.
In an experiment in the United States, elderly people were asked to listened to a story and then to recall it as faithfully as possible. In the middle of this story telling process, half of them were allowed to rest for 10 minutes doing nothing while the rest were allowed to play any electronic game. Now those who were resting remembered the story better than those who played the electronic game. This show the result of the phenomenon called consolidation.
As humans who live in modern times, of course we are very dependent on the use of gadgets. Every time and every day we are required to use gadgets for work, processing files, business, etc. However, much extensive use these habits certainly have a harmful effect on us, especially for the health of our eyes.
So should we avoid using gadgets, of course it will not be possible. So of course we have to find a way to protect our eyes from the dangers of radiation caused by the gadgets we use. What is the way? Here are some ways you can protect your eyes from the dangers of gadget screens.
When Watching TV
During watching TV, myopia develops. To avoid this, the following guidelines must be considered:
- The distance allowed from the TV to the eye must be 5 times diagonal. For e.g. if your TV is 40 inches wide then the ideal distance for watching your TV should be 200 inches (16-17 feet) away.
- In the afternoon, when watching TV, you need curtain blinds, and at night turn on the lights.
For modern people, the time spent sitting at a computer far exceeds than watching a TV.
Dont Forget to Blink: When you are focused on working on something at the computer, you usually often forget to blink.
If the eye is left open for a longer time, it will feel dry and will certainly cause discomfort. So make a habit of taking shorter breaks every few minutes and look somewhere else other than your device screen so that the eyeball doesn't feel stiff.
Setting up Monitor's Distance : If your work often requires the eye to focus on the computer screen, adjusting the distance of the monitor properly is one way you can do to avoid tired eyes and 'Computer Vision Syndrome'. Set the distance of the monitor more or less as far as the length of your arm.
Adjust Screen Lighting : If you use a gadget in a room or place with abundant light, increase the screen lighting of your gadget. Conversely, if the room is dim, gadget lighting needs to be reduced.
When Using Smartphone
If you use a smart phone or tablet computer, set the distance to approximately 40 cm from the eye.
Get Exposure to Sunlight : Try to spend a few minutes getting exposure to direct sunlight. The goal is to adjust your circadian rhythm and improve mood.
Basically you must follow all the above rules (mostly of which are similar) when using either a TV, Computer or a Smartphone.
