10 Best New Year's Resolutions & Easy Tips to Succeed

Tips to make your New Year's resolutions a Success.

New Year's Resolutions 2020 - Homies Hacks
The end of the year has come and if the beginning of a new cycle brings anything in common for most people, it is the desire to change.

For the new year, I wish you all good health and peace with full of love in your home.
As everyone else, many people will now make many big or common commitments for the new year. But before committing anything so easily, recall your New Year's resolutions for 2019. How many of them have you managed to keep?

If the answer is around 50%, you do not have to read this article as the chances are you can fulfill much of your commitments for this year too.

However if your answer is No, then carry on reading and see if this article can help. In case it does helps then also share this with your friends and family.

First of all I would like to make one thing clear which is that there is nothing wrong if you weren't able to fulfill your commitments in the previous year as most people have a similar problem.

What usually happens is that people tend to set goals that cannot be achieved (or cannot be achieved so easily) for, e.g., loosing a weight of 20 kgs in a month and so on. But then there are also real goals that can be achieved (if you can, of course!)

If you want to succeed and implement the New Year's resolutions then it is important that you must spend time on them.

It is not enough that you come up with an instant idea for your new goals when you are in the metro to reach office, while sleeping, while getting ready for the new year's eve party and so on...

Thoughts that appear in the so-called "meanwhile" quickly fall out of our heads.

To effectively plan New Year's resolutions:

You Must
  • Recall your resolutions for the previous year and write them down on a sheet of paper and select which one you have completed
  • Ask yourself if the same thing(s) is/are still important to you and if you still would like to implement it/them in 2020?
  • If your answer is 'Yes', then count what percentage of last year's resolutions you were able to implement. Don't worry, It is quite likely that you may have completed 20%, 10% or even 0% of last year's resolutions (reason you are still reading this 😉)
  • Now tally and devote 2-3 hours to plan your this Year's resolutions accordingly, i.e., if it can be started from where you left previously or if you wish to start from fresh
  • you may but of course add new plans to the list
  • save all your ideas in one place
  • treat New Year's resolutions as a project
You Must NOT
  • think about New Year's resolutions in the so-called "meanwhile"
  • belief that you will remember everything that came into your mind
  • think like Planning? It's funny! You don't have to write to know what your New Year's resolutions are.

Select the days on which you will regularly check your progress. For example, on the 7th day of each month, check how you are implementing the New Year's resolutions.

Thanks to this, you will remain more motivated and it will be easier for you to stick to your decision until the end of the year!

The following are the Top Ten New Year's Goals:

Lose Weight
This is certainly one of the most heard goals in the world. If you want to lose weight, try to do it sustainably. Start eating healthier foods or stop eating certain foods without knowing how your health is and understanding how your metabolism works.

Schedule an appointment with a nutritionist and learn how to eat properly, with foods that bring the nutrients you need to have the energy required for everyday life.

Let's make walking more than 10,000 steps every day. Office people can make certain changes in their daily habits that can have a great positive impact on their overall health. For e.g. When you commute, practice climbing stairs instead of elevators in the subway station or even in your office.

Take the time to play your favorite sports game on weekends.

Meditation (my new year's comittment)
Meditation can be a crucial resource for increasing concentration and improving mental skills such as controlling your mood, learning faster, and easier problem solving.

This also makes it possible to understand and manage situations positively while keeping onself calm.

Meet New People
Do you want to make new friends, meet interesting people, but are too lazy to leave home?

The first step in achieving this goal is to be open to moving. Swap the couch and netflix for a walk in the park or play any sport by inviting your friends and people you may come accross in the park.

This is a great opportunity to meet people who share hobbies or affinities with you. In addition to being beneficial to your well-being, meeting new people can help build your social network.

Make More Money
Even billionaires are always looking for ways to make more money. And we ordinary people can definitely use an additional source of income to make life a little more comfortable.

For an extra income you can rent your property or a spare room i.e. if possible, you can do freelancing, part-time job on weekends, take your neighbours' pets for walk.

Giving lectures or tuition to students in part-time or on weekend basis can also be ways to make more money.

Adopt a Pet
Ever wanted to have a pet? How about fulfilling this dream in 2020? There are many pets eagerly waiting for a home. It couldn't get much better if you adopt a street dog(s), all they require from us is attention, care and love. Adopting a street dog also has its benefits, they are smart, intelligent and are also not that much picky about their food.

I also heard from a friend of mine who adopted 3 street dogs, that in india if you take a street dog to any government clinic for a health checkup or for any injection then you do not get charged. Is this really true....? If any of you have any information about this then do share in the comments so others too can know about it. Also, does the same rules apply in all other countries...? Do share with us in the comments.

Who doesn't love a good story or a good informative and beneficial article?

Reading is one of the best ways to expand knowledge, distract yourself and exercise the brain.

You will not only be benefited with the new learnings but will also be able to see a much more positive impact in your day-to-day life. So, start reading more, it can be newspapers, informative magazines, books and even articles from HomiesHacks.com (my favourite 😋)

Be More Organized
Does your house live a mess? You never know where you are at all and are even ashamed to welcome visitors?

Start the year by stopping the clutter for good. Take the opportunity to separate things to donate or even to sell and get out of the crisis.

Have a Hobby
Do you know that one thing that you always wanted to do? Could be to learn or dance, play guitar, draw, do manual projects, or whatever.

The time has come to lose your shame (or laziness) and engage in your hobbies and passions.

& last but not the least, my favourite

Be Kinder
Kindness generates kindness. Having more empathy and helping others can change your life and society in ways you can't imagine.

It opens doors, facilitates connection with others, promotes better relationships, and increases empathy.

For a kinder 2020, try greeting your co-workers and friends always with a smile, offering help whenever possible, inviting someone to dinner or a drink (tea, coffee or a juice that is, and not .... tada da dum🤣).
