Is work-from-home making you skip shower?
Your company has allowed you to work from home and it has been some time now that you have been working at home in your pajamas.
You have been used to the idea that now you are not required to get up early to dress-up and become ready for your office.
But is this work-from-home routine been causing you to think even more innovative ideas, like skipping your morning shower?
Wondering what could happen if you decide to skip a few days of shower?I understand everyone is in lockdown, no one is going anywhere, well apart from those very minimal yet essential occasions when you need to buy some groceries or medicines, and obviously you have perfumes and deodorants in handy to disguise that bad smell a little.
Surely you do not want to admit it, but it is possible that you skip the occasional shower to finish certain things or just to sleep for another half hour. Suddenly, and without realizing it, the last time you bathed - was 2 days ago!
Well if you have been this lazy to take a shower, there is a good news for you. According to doctors, skipping a bath does not hurt. However, just because it is not bad for your health does not mean that you should do it more often, i.e. skipping for 2 days or more.
This whole 'skipping of the shower being safe' logic also depends on the location in which you reside, for example: in countries with very cold winters or places where the climate is hot. Because if you happen to be in areas with hot temperature, skipping showers too often may not be good.
On the other hand, washing your face and hands daily is essential.
Showering is one of the most basic hygiene habits. Skipping to take bath for consecutive days, specially if you sweat a lot or live in areas with hot climate may not be good for your health as you could suffer the following consequences-
Skipping your basic hygiene routine periodically will cause dirt, sweat, dead skin and body fat to accumulate on your skin making it look dull and lifeless.
Skipping from bath regularly may accumulate excess oil and dirt which in turn can generate pimples, blackheads or acne.
It is recommended to wash your face before going to sleep.
Bath Is Must After Exercise
Don't mix good and bad things together. If you like doing exercise - its good for you. But if you skip shower after that - just think of your instincts - is it gonna be good for you? You know deep down there that its not!
When you exercise, you release toxins, which is good but if you don't shower and leave them on your body for a long time they can irritate your skin, which will cause pimples and rashes to appear.
So don't miss your shower after exercise. No need to say that you should obviously wait for around 10-20 mins after exercise so that your body can return to its normal body temperature, before you go for a bath.
Bad Body Odor
Do you know that the sweat that comes from your armpits, groin, hands and feet has no odor of its own.
The smell that you feel is actually caused by the bacteria's breaking down of the acids contained in the sweat that is produced by the apocrine sweat gland.
So the next when you smell that odor remember that there are bacterias there.
Our body also has a good bacteria which works to destroy other malicious microorganisms, and when we bath, we basically add an extra line of defense against the pathogens we are exposed to on a daily basis.
But when you skip a shower, you're basically creating an open breeding ground for bacteria. Which increases the chances of developing a bacterial or fungal infection.
I hope I have scared you enough and that now you won't be skipping your one of the most important daily routine.
Taking a shower daily is good for taking care of your skin and your health.
