Use your Kitchen-Lab to Get Rid of these Ugly Creatures Fast.
Although, they play an important role in nature, but the same cannot be said for our houses.
They are difficult to eradicate, but nothing is impossible at Homies Hacks.
If you have children or pets at home and you are concerned about using chemicals such as insecticides, then continue reading this article as today, I'll share very easy natural remedies with which you can combat these annoying insects, and can take care of the hygiene of your home.
Where Do They Hide?
First, let's see where these creatures hide.
Cockroaches tend to be more active at night, while during the daytime they live in dark, wet holes, in wall cracks, or in any other damp, and poorly lit shelters, food storage places or near trash, especially when the place is near heat sources such as: refrigerator compressor, kitchen oven, etc.
They also like to spend time on porous surfaces such as wood, cardboard, and paper.
They leave their scent on these places, and this aroma is in charge of attracting other cockroaches to the same area.
Maintain Cleanliness & Fix Any Cracks
The very first step which you need to do if you want to keep these critters away from your house is to pay close attention to places with humidity, and be sure to fix the cracks, and seal the gaps that surround the appliances and keep the place as dry as possible.
Baking Soda + Sugar
In your kitchen lab, mix these two ingredients in a bowl, and then put the mixture where you observe the cockroaches do appear.
Although this mixture is not toxic to humans, but is surely lethal to roaches. Want to know how? Well, cockroaches like sweet things, so would naturally be attracted to the sweet sugary smell from the mixture. Hence, when they will come out of their hiding places to ingest sugar which is mixed with baking soda, it is what will eliminate them.
Make sure to mix equal ratio of baking soda and sugar.
Vinegar - Also An Insect Repellent
The vinegar, in fact, is not only a useful product for food, but is also an excellent insect repellent.
Open the bottle of your vinegar and put a few drops on the places where cockroaches usually come for their late night dinner parties.
I bet they won't be able to enjoy any of their future parties.
Lemon is yet another effective way to make the cockroaches leave their occupied territories (which practically is ours).
A better way to use this, is to simply collect the lemon juice in a spray bottle, and then spray the juice on cockroaches infested areas.
Bay Leaves (Tej Patta In Hindi)
Nature always meets our needs. An another effective preventive method includes placing crushed bay leaves in the most critical parts of the home.
The smell of this plant is too strong for most insects.
In addition to using bay leaves, you can also use garlic cloves. Cockroaches hate the strong smell of this, and would surely not want to be in a place which has this smell.
I am sure you would be surprised to read cucumber on the list. But the fact is that it is also a very effective way to avoid cockroaches.
For this to work, cut the cucumber into slices and place it everywhere where cockroaches come. Do not hesitate to repeat the operation as soon as the cockroaches try to return.
This vegetable is indeed a very good insect repellent.
